Landlord jailed after 200 cannabis plants found at property
Martin Evans, a landlord, has been jailed for facilitating a large-scale cannabis factory at his property near Kidwelly, Wales. Despite claiming ignorance of the operation’s scale, evidence from his phone revealed his involvement. Police discovered nearly 200 cannabis plants worth up to £264,100 during a raid as part of Operation Scotney. Evans rented out the main building while living nearby in a mobile home. He pleaded guilty to cannabis production and supply, receiving an 18-month sentence. Another man, Fatjon Xafa, involved in cultivating the plants, was sentenced to 29 weeks. Police urge landlords to monitor their properties to prevent criminal misuse.
