Warning to landlords over risks if tenant hold outdoor activities

Landlords are being warned about electrical hazards as tenants increase outdoor electrical use during warmer months. Dan Robson of Hexo Electrical Testing highlights risks such as overloaded extension leads, outdated sockets, and makeshift wiring, which can lead to fires, electric shocks, or circuit failures. Common dangers include running indoor extension cables outside, using non-waterproof garden lighting, and placing electric BBQs near flammable materials. Robson advises landlords to check for warning signs like buzzing plugs, frequent fuse trips, and weather-damaged cables to prevent accidents and potential insurance issues.
